Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage head
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs

How To Make cabbage pudding

  • Step 1
    Core and quarter cabbage; cook until done in salt water, drain well, chop into bite size pieces.
  • Step 2
    White Sauce: Melt butter in heavy pan or skillet, Add flour and stir until well blended, add milk, a little at a time, stirring constantly to keep smooth. Cook until all milk is used and mixture becomes very thick. Add salt and pepper
  • Step 3
    Mix cabbage with white sauce, add chopped eggs. Put into a large baking dish or pan and sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350 F for 40 to 45 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
