If you need a corn recipe for any occasion, this is it. I would double it if you have a larger group coming. An ear of corn averages 800 kernels in 16 rows. Each kernel has a silk thread attached so that it can be pollinated. During hot summer nights a corn plant can grow three to four inches.

Ingredients For scalloped corn and ham casserole

  • 1 can
    whole kernel corn
  • 3 c
    diced cooked ham
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped green onion
  • 1 1/2 c
    bread crumbs or crushed croutons
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, or margarine

How To Make scalloped corn and ham casserole

  • 1
    Combine all ingredients EXCEPT 1/2 cup bread crumbs and butter (or margarine). Pour mixture into greased casserole dish
  • 2
    Top with 1/2 cup bread crumbs and dot with butter. Bake covered in 375 F oven for 45 minutes
