One of my favorite rices. I made a spiced shrimp, that I ladled over top. So, so good!

This rice could be served as a side with any meat. Yum!

  • 1 c
    basmati rice
  • handful
    mixed vegetables, frozen
  • 2 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp
    chicken buillon
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried, minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 Tbsp
  • couple pinch
    saffron - crumbled

How to Make ~ Savory Basmati Saffron Rice ~ Cassies


  1. Rinse the Basmati rice and drain.

    In a medium saucepan, add all ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil then turn heat to simmer. Place a lid over pan and simmer for 15 minutes. If liquid is not absorbed, simmer a bit longer.
  2. Fluff with fork and serve immediately.
