Another recipe I just threw together with items I had, that needed used up...they were a big hit the first time I made them. I wrote down to the best of my memory what I used, so I could make them the same again...now they're requested...enjoy!

How To Make darn good stovetop beans

  • 1
In a large skillet, cook the bacon. Drain on paper towels. Empty the skillet of grease and in the same skillet, add the ground beef, onion, green pepper and garlic. Continue cooking until beef is no longer pink and vegetables are tender. Drain if need be.

Add the bacon and all of the remaining ingredients. Simmer for about an hour, or until desired thickness...stir occasionally to make sure bottom is not sticking or burning. Will thicken quite a bit. If desired, add a little more ketchup, bbq sauce or even water. The longer the beans cook the better they are. I usually serve these with corn bread. Enjoy!
