Best barbeque beans!! Be sure to include these tasty beans on your menu for your next cookout, fish fry, or picnic. A wonderful side dish even if you are't cooking out. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients For 3-bean baked beans

  • 1/2 lb
    bulk pork sausage, i used hot (you can use hamburger meat if desired)
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    (15-oz) can of lima beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1
    (15-oz) can pork n beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1
    (15-oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 lg
    bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 c
    barbecue sauce, your favorite
  • 2 Tbsp
    dark molasses
  • 2 tsp
    mustard, spicy brown (can use yellow mustard you prefer)
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 or 5 slice
    thick hickory smoked bacon (or bacon you prefer)

How To Make 3-bean baked beans

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 9 casserole dish or a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. I spray with PAM.

    Cook sausage and onion in a pan over medium heat until meat crumbles and is no longer pink; drain and stir in remaining ingredients except for bacon.

    Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and top with sliced bacon strips.

    Bake uncovered on middle rack for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, until bubbly and bacon is browned.
