How to Make Applebee's Almond Rice Pilaf
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat in saucepan that has a lid. Add the rice and saute in butter for 2-4 minutes or until the rice becomes a light brown color. While rice is cooking heat broth in microwave or in a seperate pot on stove top until broth begins to bubble.
- When rice is brown, add hot broth and salt to rice, Cover pan with lid and reduce heat to low,simmering rice for 20 minutes.
- As rice cooks, in a small fry pan, melt the remaining butter, add in almonds, celery and onions...saute for about 3-4 minutes.
- After the rice has cooked for 20 minutes,remove from heat... add sauted veggies and nuts, stir in parsley and let sit covered for about 5 min or until all liquid is absorbed!
