  • 3 medium
    onions, peeled & quartered
  • 3 medium
    russet potatoes, peeled & quartered
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 3 Tbsp
    whole milk, or more if you want it creamier
  • 1 tsp
    salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper, or to taste

How to Make Whipped Onion Potatoes


  1. Add onions and potatoes to a pot and fill with water until vegetables are just covered. Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes are tender. Drain.
  2. Using a hand electric mixer (or stand mixer, if you prefer), beat the potatoes, onions, butter, milk, salt and pepper until almost smooth or until desired consistency.
