- 1 quart grated raw sweet potatoes
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup cane syrup
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make sweet potato pone

Step 1Sift together dry ingredients. Combine these with remaining ingredients. Put mixture into a baking dish and bake in a slow oven (275 F) for about 2 1/2 hours or until done, stirring occasionally during the first half of cooking.

Step 2During the last 30 minutes, discontinue stirring and allow pone to brown.
