  • 3 clove
    garlic minced
  • 2 lb
    yellow potatoes peeled
  • 2 c
    half and half
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh thyme minced
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg grated
  • 1 c
    grated gruyere cheese

How to Make Scalloped Potatoes with Gruyere


  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees. Rub 1 tbsp. butter inside an 8 x 8 baking dish.
  2. With a mandoline slice the potatoes to about 1/8 inch thick. Add the remaining butter and half and half into a saucepan. Add the thyme, salt , pepper, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and add the potatoes and cook 1 minute. Pour into the baking dish.
  3. Bake about 30 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender. Top with the cheese and bake another 10 minutes.
