My mother every Thanksgiving made her sweet potatoes this way from Libby's canned sweet potatoes and or yams. I'm pretty sure she got the recipe from the can. I don't know for sure but we loved them this way as kids and my children love them this way also. So easy to make and so good! I am asked every year if I'm going to make them and every year its always, yes. ( Jodi especially loves these ) See Jodi, I did add it to my recipies!

*** Most times I added 2 cans of sweet potaoes and drained one. *** We like to mash them down on our plates and add butter. Mmmmm!

When serving, use a slotted spoon with holes to get the sweet potato's out of the baking dish so the liquid is separated from the potato's. I don't use the juice. I let the guests pull them out of the dish and mash them on their plate and put butter on top to melt over it.
