The pears add a nice texture and sweetness to this cranberry sauce. Typically people who don't like cranberry sauce will like this. Easy to make and so pretty to serve. Enjoy - we do.

  • 3/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    fresh orange juice
  • 1 c
  • 3 c
    fresh cranberries
  • 2 small
    ripe pears, peeled and diced small
  • ·
    zest from one orange
  • 1/4 c
    walnuts, roasted and chopped into med size pieces

How to Make Gail's Fresh Cranberry Sauce


  1. Bring water, orange juice, sugar, cranberries and pears to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add orange zest.
  2. Refrigerate until ready to use. Add walnuts just before serving.
  3. This freezes well so can be made weeks in advance of the Holidays.
