This is my favorite cranberry recipe. Frequently there are no leftovers, but if there are, spread it over a block of cream cheese for a great appetizer.

Ingredients For cranberry sauce extraordinaire

  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1 pkg
    12 ounce fresh cranberries
  • 1
    orange, peeled, and chopped
  • 1
    apple, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1
    pear, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 c
    dried fruit, chopped
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How To Make cranberry sauce extraordinaire

    In a medium saucepan, boil water and sugar until sugar dissolves. Reduce the heat to simmer.

    Add cranberries, and all other ingredients.

    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
