Ingredients

1/2 small
walnut (size) of onion with 1/2 cup hot water use less if you want thicker.
1 Tbsp
brown sugar heaping
200 g
tomato paste, no salt added
1/4 tsp
ground cloves
1/4 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
mustard
3 Tbsp
vinegar

How to Make Homemade Ketchup

Step-by-Step

  • 1Dissolve brown sugar in 1/2 cup hot water. When the water cools put in the 1/2 walnut sized onion. Use a hand blender to chop onion until no big pieces are left.
  • 2Pour tomato paste into a bowl add cloves, cinnamon, salt, mustard, vinegar and the onion water. Whisk together until smooth if you want thicker add less water.
