I like to make my own mixes from herbs and spices I have on hand so I don't have to buy several expensive containers of premixed seasonings. Herbs don't have a long shelf life so you don't want to have large amounts on hand. Make enough to last a year.

Ingredients For homemade italian herb mix

  • 1 Tbsp
    basil, dried
  • 1 Tbsp
    marjoram, dried
  • 1 Tbsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    rosemary, cut and sifted
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1 pinch
    garlic powder (optional, especially if you cook with fresh garlic)

How To Make homemade italian herb mix

    Grind together with a mortar and pestle or whatever spice grinder you use.

    Store in an airtight container in a dark place.
