This is a spicy sauce I created...not for the little ones or faint of heart.

I did use the 7 tsp of chili powder in this one and it was perfect for my palate. Don't like things hot, then adjust the heat to your liking. This definitely adds a nice kick to your hot dog. The Test Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 15 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 2 lb
    hamburger
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 7 tsp
    chili powder, hot...mine is very hot!
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 oz
    hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes

How to Make You Saucey Little Dog Sauce (hot dog sauce)

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine all spices & tomato sauce in a large skillet. Add raw hamburger. Cook over low heat or in a crockpot for 3 hours, stirring occasionally (not if in a crock pot).
  2. Serve on a hotdog with roll, add raw onion & mustard (buried).
  3. Can easily double or triple recipe. Freezes well.
