This deliciously addictive condiment can be used on burgers, hot dogs, pork chops, grilled chicken breasts, etc. It’s so yummy, you might have to make another batch sooner than you think...

Ingredients For sweet & savory homemade ketchup

    tomatoes, washed
  • 8 md
    apples (such as spartan), cored but not peeled
  • 4 md
    white onions
  • 3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2 c
    white vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    ground sea salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    pickling spice

How To Make sweet & savory homemade ketchup

  • 1
    Put tomatoes, onions and apples thru a grinder or Videlia Chop® - as long as they are finely chopped. Transfer them in a saucepan and add sugar, vinegar and salt.

    Wrap the pickling spice in a cotton cheese cloth and add to the mixture. Cook, uncover, at medium heat for 1 ½ hour or until it thicken; stir often. If too chunky, use an immersion blender. Pour the mixture into sterilized jars and sealed. Makes about 18 -250 ml jars
