    filtered water
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce, plain variety
  • 2 Tbsp
    distilled white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    dehydrated onions, finely ground
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    sugar, granulated variety
  • 1/4 tsp
    sweet paprika
  • 1/4 Tbsp
    cayenne pepper

    You will need a saucepan, and a non-reactive jar to store the sauce in.

    Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

    Add the tomato sauce, water, and vinegar to a small saucepan over medium heat, and bring up to a simmer.

    Place the dry ingredients into a spice blender, and blend until finely ground.

    Add to the simmering sauce.

    Continue to simmer for 5 – 7 minutes.

    Remove from the heat, allow to cool.

    Store in a non-reactive container in the fridge, until ready to use.
