Recipe by

This was a recipe I created for our Easter Dinner, in lieu of serving our ham plain or without glaze, I created this SUGAR FREE VERSION, THAT NOT ONLY TASTE GOOD BUT ALSO ADDS FIBER to the ham, & it checks all the boxes for taste, flavor, low carb & no sugar added. I used My Fitness Pal to calculate the nutritional value, and a serving of 2 tablespoons is only 31 calories, with 36 Mg of sodium, has 7 carbs, and 3 grams of fiber which calculates to only 4 net carbs per serving. The best part is it TASTE AMAZING. HOPE YOU GIVE IT A TRY.

How To Make chia seed sugar free ham glaze

  • 1
These are the main ingredients for this recipe.
  • 2
Add the peach preserves to a medium size sauce pan with the maple syrup then whisk together to blend. Then add in the mustard, ground cloves, & chia seeds, lemon juice and whisk again until throughly mixed together.
  • 3
Place sauce pan over medium high heat, and whisk until heated through. Continue stirring until mixture is hot and has thickened slightly. Stir to prevent the glaze from sticking to bottom of pot.
  • 4
Cook until mixture is hot and bubbling and glaze has thickened , then remove from heat, add in maple extract, stir and set aside until needed to glaze the ham. Pour some into a small bowl to avoid contaminating the entire batch with juices from the ham, that way you can store the left overs and use them later.NOTE: The Chia Seeds aids in thickening the Ham glaze, so no corn starch or other thickener is needed.
  • 5
Brush glaze over entire ham, in all the nooks and crannies, then return to oven, and bake for 10 minutes, then repeat for two additional times, until glaze has baked into the ham, and ham has a hint of the glaze glistening on outside of ham. You may also serve the extra glaze on the side, it is that good. I did have some left over, and stored it in a jar to use for later.
