Abeula's Lasagna Sauce

Natalie Loop

This is a great sauce for many Italian dish options. Not like a spaghetti sauce it's more like a marinara. The flavors of the tomatoes are so fresh. Be sure to use the vinegar and sugar those are key. This recipe is just enough for 1 pan of lasagna. Our grandson is 7 and a lasagna connoisseur. He say's my lasagna is the best and he's had alot of lasagna in all of his 7 yrs.

How to Make Abeula's Lasagna Sauce

  1. Saute your meat with the 2 cloves of garlic until no pink. You can also jazz it up by using 1/2 lb. pork sausage and 1/2 lb. of beef for a deeper flavor profile.
  2. Add your onion, peppers into the pan with the meat and cook until veggies are tender.
  3. Add in your tomato sauce, paste and crushed tomatoes along with the spices, vinegar & sugar. **The sugar and vinegar are key.
  4. Bring to a slight bubbling and turn down to low and simmer for 45 mins. **Do not boil**
  5. This will make just enough for 1 9'"x13" pan of lasagna.
