washed, cut or whole, figs
1 lb
sugar
juice of 1 lemon
rind of 1 lemon

How to Make Fig Preserves

Step-by-Step

  • 1combine ingredients & let mixture boil as hard as it will.
  • 2After preserves begin to thicken, test by placing a small amount in the freezer. If syrup jells quickly, preserves are done.
  • 3Put preserves in hot sterilized jars & seal. Will make about 3 pints.
