  • 1 qt
    or 3 lb jar of applesauce
  • 1/2 c
    sugar plus 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    allspice, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar

How to Make Apple Butter


  1. Combine applesauce,1/2 cup sugar and spices. Cook until thick over medium heat in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Add remaining sugar and vinegar, cook until reach desired thickness.

    Cool. Store in covered glass jar. Refrigerate.
