sugar
1 dash(es)
salt
2 Tbsp
cornstarch
3/4 c
orange juice
1 lb
( 2 cups ) pitted tart red cherries (water pack), undrained
1 stick
1 inch stick cinnamon
1/2 tsp
whole cloves
1/4 tsp
red food coloring
1 Tbsp
lemon juice

How to Make Spicy Cherry Sauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine sugar, salt, and cornstarch.
    Stir in orange and lemon juices.
    Add undrained cherries, spices, and food coloring.
  • 2Cook stirring constantly, over medium heat till mixture thickens and comes to boiling.
    Boil two minutes.
  • 3Before serving, remove cinnamon and cloves.
    Serve warm with cooked ham.
