This is a special syrup that my grandmother Mabel Kennedy Sullivan use to make... it is a nice alternative to the usual maple syrup!

I remember my grandmother warning us kids to let the syrup cool a bit before we tried it... "You don't want a sugar burn! Sugar burns are the worst!!!"

I find myself saying the same thing to my grandchildren! lol

How to Make Orange Syrup


  1. Bring the water, sugar and zest to a full boil, stirring constantly let it boil for about 5 minutes. Add the lemon and orange juices. Bring back to a boil for about 5 more minutes or until the syrup is the desired consistancy. Let cool a bit (don't want to burn your mouth!)

    **** Serve over fry bread, waffles, pancakes or biscuits.

    *** This stores well in a jar in the refrigerato for about a month.
