I was sitting in Weight Watchers meeting this evening and we were talking about how we can make different foods in a Variety of ways in a healthy, flavorful way. One of the Gentleman that was in my group suggested this way to prepare onions on the Barbeque... If you are going to have the BBQ on anyways why not make the onions this way... So easy and no mess! Oh yeah and by the way only 1 points plus if you eat the entire onion if you only eat half 0 points!!

Ingredients For onions on the barbie

  • 1 lg
    sweet onion
  • 1
    bouillon cube

How To Make onions on the barbie

  • 1
Clean Onion as you would normally, cut the ends off so it sits flat
  • 2
On one end hollow a small hole about half way down, the hole should be just big enough to stuff the bouillon cube into. I don't have a corer so I used the flat end of a fork, since my silverware is wide and flat handled.
  • 3
Stuff the Bouillon cube into the center of the onion SIDE NOTE: I use the bouillon flavor to match the protein that I am making with the Onions. Example: If I am cooking beef then I use Beef Bouillon. Ect.
  • 4
Take Tin foil and place onion hole side up
  • 5
Wrap tinfoil around onion so that the opening is up. Put on grill for one hour
  • Right off the Barbie
    6
Remove from grill, slice the onion in wedges.
  • 7
Serve on top of steak or other favorite food.
