If you are a lover of ranch dressing, whom among you, after pouring some of this rich, creamy dressing on a mess of garden fresh lettuce, would not take a bite, sigh, and say: I am home.

I love a lot of different dressings but a good homemade ranch has got to be in my top five. Full Stop.

Okay, this is an awesome ranch dressing, and the reason that I call it “Almost” Classic Ranch Dressing, you get people saying: That is not “my” classic ranch dressing. So, I do not wish to offend anyone by calling it classic… However, it is classic to me.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How to Make Dressing Essentials: Almost Classic Ranch

Step-by-Step

  1. PREP/PREPARE
  2. If you put the finished recipe in the fridge for 24 hours before using, it will give the dressing a deeper flavor.
  3. Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
  4. Crush up the dehydrated onions, in a spice grinder, or using a mortar and pestle.
  5. Add all the ingredients to a bowl.
  6. Whisk together, and store in the fridge, using a non-reactive jar, with a tightly-fitting lid.

Do not forget to do a final tasting for proper seasoning.
  7. Chef’s Note: This dressing will last for 7 – 10 days, so only make as much as you can use in that amount of time.
  8. PLATE/PRESENT
  9. Use on a salad, or any place you would use a good ranch dressing. Enjoy.
  10. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
