This is my delicious "less guilt" dip for seafood lovers. Serve this with chips, crackers or raw vegetables, and it will disappear quickly! Recipe may be doubled for large crowds and may be prepared up to 2 days in advance.

Ingredients For reduced fat clam dip

  • 8 oz
    neufatchel cheese (1 brick), room temperature
  • 1/2 c
    lite sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    low fat greek yogurt, plain
  • 1 pkg
    ranch style dressing mix
  • 1/4 tsp
    louisiana cajun seasoning
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 c
    white chedder cheese, grated
  • 3 Tbsp
    real smoked bacon bits
  • 1 Tbsp
    chives, fresh snipped
  • 1 can
    minced clams, drained (6.5 oz.)

How To Make reduced fat clam dip

  • Beaten neufatchel cheese i mixing bowl with beaters.

    Using an electric hand-mixer, beat neufatchel cheese until fluffy.
  • Neufatchel, sour cream and yogurt beaten.

    Add lite sour cream and greek yogurt; mix thoroughly, until no lumps remain.
  • Some of the ingredients for lower fat clam dip.

    Add ranch dressing mix, maple syrup, liquid smoke, pepper and cajun seasoning; mix well.
  • Bacon bits, chives and cheddar added to creamed mixture, mixed together.

    Add cheddar cheese, bacon bits and minced chives; combine well.
  • Adding drained clams to creamed mixture in bowl.

    Add drained clams; mix until well combined. (NOTE: Save and freeze clam juice for chowder or other seafood dishes.)
  • Clam dip in bowl, garnished with chives, surrounded by seashells on weathered boards.

    May serve immediately, but best if covered and refrigerated for 2 hours, or more, until served. Garnish as desired. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
