Imade this for a football game one time and everyone loved it! Such wonderful flavors and so healthy for you! I serve w/ baked tortilla chips and sour cream.

Ingredients For healthy black bean dip

    16 oz cans black beans, drained
  • 1
    8 oz jar picante sauce, divided
  • 1 tsp
    canola oil
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1
    red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    reduced-fat, shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 lg
    tomato, chopped

How To Make healthy black bean dip

    In blender, combine 1 can black beans and 1/4 cup picante sauce. Blend until smooth. In lg skillet, over medium heat, Heat oil. Add onion, red bell pepper and garlic. Saute until onion is soft.

    Add pureed bean mix to skillet, along w/ cumin, salt and remaining beans and picante sauce. Mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low.

    Simmer for 5 mins, stirring occasionally. Pour dip into serving bowl. Serve w/ baked tortilla chips and light sour cream
