Got this recipe from a friend .. delish !! This is a great summer salad for holiday gatherings (cook outs) For healthy eating use Light or Fat Free ingredients.

Ingredients For creamy broccoli and cauliflower salad w/poppy seed

    head broccoli (chopped )
  • 1
    head cauliflower (chopped)
  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    sugar .....use less per personal taste ( you can use 3-4 packets of sweetner in place of sugar)
  • 2/3 c
    bacon bits or 6 slices fried and crumbled bacon ( fried/crumbled bacon is best)
  • 2/3 c
    shredded cheddar cheese (you can add more or less .. your choice)
  • salt/pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp poppy seed (optional)
  • few thin slices halved "red" onion (optional)

How To Make creamy broccoli and cauliflower salad w/poppy seed

    Combine broccoli and cauliflower in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, poppy seed, salt and pepper to make a creamy dressing. Add the dressing to the broccoli–cauliflower mix, stir/toss to evenly coat the vegetables. Stir in the bacon and the cheese. Chill in refrigerator for 3 - 4 hours .. Stir before serving.
