Winter suet you can add berries and nuts even meal worms that you can pick up at Birds Unlimited they have many different things that you can add to your suet. and hang in your feeder.

Ingredients For winter suet

  • 2 c
    peanut butter, crunchy
  • 2 c
    lard
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 6 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • SEPARATE
  • 1/2 c
    birdseed
  • 1/3 c
    dried cranberries
  • 1/4 c
    meal worms

How To Make winter suet

  • 1
    Melt peanut butter and shortening in a large pot. Stir in flour and cornmeal. Fold in last three ingredients.

    Turn dough onto a waxed paper lined 13x9" pan. Or you can store in wax paper lined zip loc rectangular containers. Cut into rectangles for use in a suet feeder. Suet can be stored in a freezer.
