You all probably have your own "taste testers".My dogs LOVE these treats. It's fun to have your own cookie cutters. This makes a wonderful gift for your canine friends. I use the medium size bone cookie cutter and the recipe makes about 45 cookies. Makes about 55 for small dogs.

Ingredients For dog treat-peanut butter shortbread

  • 1 1/2 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    smooth or chunky peanut butter. smooth works best.
  • 3/4 c
    milk

How To Make dog treat-peanut butter shortbread

    In a large mixing bowl,combine flour and baking powder.

    In a small bowl,whisk peanut butter and milk until smooth.

    Make a well in flour mixture,pour in peanut butter mixture and blend.

    Work dough into 2 balls (easier to work with).

    Knead each ball onto a floured surface about 2 minutes

    Roll out dough to 1/4-1/2 thickness.

    Cut out shapes and place onto a foil covered baking sheet.

    Bake 15 minutes @ 400. Cool on rack. Store in plastic bags in fridge.
