linky's bark butter for the birds

Recipe by

I've tried some other concoctions and quite a few are very crumbly. I hate having half the stuff fall on the ground when I'm stuffing the holes in my feeder log. So I came up with this solution to make it a little stickier. Do use real lard, if possible. Our little town has it! Species that it's attracted so far: downy woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker, black-capped chickadee, cardinal, house wren, robin, grackle, red-winged blackbird, catbirds...
