Cajun Style Pork Chops
Serve it with chilled cole slaw, hot baked beans and homemade cornbread.
4 (8-oz)center-cut pork chops
1 1/2 tspcajun seasoning (or creole seasoning)
1/2 cupplain yellow cornmeal
1 Tbspunsalted butter
2 Tbspolive oil
1 mediumlemon, quarter (for garnish, optional)
4 sprig(s)fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
How to Make Cajun Style Pork Chops
- Sprinkle the pork chops with 1 tsp of the Cajun seasoning; set aside.
- Combine remaining 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning with the flour and cornmeal, and mix well. Coat both sides of pork chops with the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Heat butter and oil together in a large skillet over medium heat. Add seasoned pork chops, and saute for 7 to 10 minutes each side (thicker chops will require longer cooking time).
- To serve, arrange pork chops on 4 individual dinner plates. Squeeze lemon over each serving. Garnish each with a lemon wedge and parsley, and serve immediately.
