Ingredients For my shrimp pad thai

  • HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SHRIMP
  • 8 oz
    shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking soda
  • FOR THE DISH
  • 8 oz
    rice noodles
  • 2 Tbsp
    each rice vinegar, fish sauce, lemon juice and ketchup
  • 1/4 Tbsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 3
    scallions chopped
  • 1 c
    red cabbage shredded
  • 2 c
    fresh bean sprouts
  • 4 Tbsp
    fresh cilantro chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped nuts
  • lime wedges for serving

How To Make my shrimp pad thai

    For the shrimp rub the baking soda over the shrimp 1/2 massaging it in and let sit at least 15 minutes or up to 1/2 hour. Rinse well with cold water until water runs clear. This will make your shrimp tender and bouncy. Now it's ready to use.

    Cook the noodles according to package directions and drain. Combine the vinegar, fish sauce, lemon juice, ketchup, sugar and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

    Place oil in a Wok or large skillet. Add the garlic and scallions cook about 1 minute. Add the shrimp and cook about 3 minutes. Stir in the sauce mixture and noodles. Cook 1 minute. Add the red cabbage and cook until heated through. Serve with the bean sprouts, cilantro, nuts and lime wedges.
