Ingredients For smothered pork steaks

  • 4
    pork steak
  • 1 lg
    onion
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can
    mushrooms (drained)
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    horseradish (if desired)
  • vegetable or canola oil for browning

How To Make smothered pork steaks

    season steaks with your favorite seasoning (Mrs Dash, season salt or just salt & pepper)

    heat oil in large frying pan over high heat, brown steaks on both sides on high.

    chop onion & add onion, mushrooms & cream of mushroom soup to chops, redude to low & cover. Simmer over low heat for 1 to 1 1/4 hour. If using horseradish you can add that about 1/2 way thru cooking time and mix into the soup & onion mixture. It just adds a little kick but you do NOT need to use it.

    remove steaks to dinner plates & stir soup/onion/mushroom mix together for gravy. Excellent served over wide egg noodles or dumpling noodles.
