Smoked Turkey is one of my favorite things and I love to do it myself because it is healthy and naturally smoked without preservatives and the flavor is OVER THE MOON! And when you add smoked turkey to red onion marmalade on garlic toast with melted Brie and smoked Gouda - what is not to like? This tangy, sweet, creamy, smoky sandwich is so delicious. Call your neighbors and friends in and smoke some turkey, then enjoy it with all the fixins!

Oh my... the red onion marmalade is delicious! It pairs great with the smoked turkey, but you'll find tons of other users for it too. The garlic butter is the icing on the sandwich.

How To Make smokin' turkey melt with red onion marmalade

  • 1
If you are smoking the breasts yourself, then salt and pepper the turkey (or chicken) filets. Place on the grill rack of the Cameron smoker. I used the hickory chips for this recipe. Follow the directions of the smoker and smoke for approximately 10 minutes. Another great choice is to skip this step and buy boneless smoked pork chops.
  • Cook, stirring constantly until thickens like a jam.

Meanwhile heat the oil and add the onions in a 10 or 12 inch skillet. Saute over medium heat, constantly stirring, until softened. Add the red pepper, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Madeira and raisins. Stir constantly and cook uncovered until mixture is thickened, dark and jammy.
  • Just mix all ingredients together for the garlic butter

Split the hoagie rolls, slather with garlic butter and add the cheese. Toast in the broiler until crispy and cheese is melted. Add the sliced smoked turkey and top with the red onion marmalade.
