Made this recipe for a get-together once. Used a thick steak sauce instead of BBQ sauce. There was nothing left. Ribs were tender and great.

Ingredients For rib sandwich

  • 1 pkg
    rack of baby back ribs, membrane removed
  • DRY RUB
  • 2 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • GLAZE
  • 1 c
    bbq sauce, or thick steak sauce
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 1 lg
    loaf of bread, i used french loaf
  • 1/4 c
    melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    sesame seeds
  • 2 lg
    onions,sauteed or carmelized
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley, chopped
  • pickles

How To Make rib sandwich

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lay ribs in long sheet of aluminum foil.

    Combine dry rub ingredients, cover ribs liberally on both sides.

    Wrap foil around ribs, making sure that they are sealed. Use more sheets if necessary.

    Bake ribs for 3-3 1/2 hours

    Unwrap carefully. Wiggle bones out, slowly. Set aside.

    Combine glaze ingredients in bowl, brush on both sides.

    Place in oven, broil for about 5 minutes.

    Slice bread in half, lengthwise. Then butter both sides of the bread. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, then toast bread by broiling for a few minutes.

    With 2 long spatulas, or knives, transfer ribs to bread. Top with onions, parsley, and top bun.

    Slice into about 2 inch servings, and serve.
