This a very easy dish.This is my mother-in-laws favorite dish and I always try to make it for her at least once when she comes to visit!Keeps her HAPPY!

Ingredients For asian adobo or humba

  • 3 lb
    pork cut into large cubes. (may also use boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs large cubed or beef large cubed if preferred)
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil or conola oil
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce, dark
  • 1/2 c
    white vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 c
    7-up
  • 3
    garlic cloves, smashed
  • 3
    stick green onion
  • 3
    bay leaves
  • 3
    star anise
  • 1
    white onion, diced
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper

How To Make asian adobo or humba

    Cook the Pork in 4 quart or larger pan in conola or olive oil until golden brown.Drain fat from the pan.

    Add all remaining ingredients to the pan with the pork.

    Cover tightly and let simmer over low/medium heat,until pork is tender (about 3 hours).

    Turn of heat cover and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.Serve over your rice of choice or even noodles.
