Fun Fact: The original Spaghetti-O's hit the store shelves in the year 1965 and were made by the Campbells company. They were advertaised as a way for kids to eat spaghetti without the mess they make. To this day, Spaghetti-O's remain one of the best selling canned foods in America!

Ingredients For three cheese baked spaghettios

  • 1 box
    (16 oz.) ring pasta
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 3/4-1 lb
    turkey italian sausage
  • 1 md
    onion, finely diced
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lg
    red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can
    mushrooms, drained
  • 2 can
    (15 oz.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can
    (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1/3 c
    red wine
  • 2 tsp
    dried basil
  • 2 tsp
    dried parsley
  • 2 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 2 c
    cottage cheese
  • 1 c
    shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese
  • salt & pepper to taste

How To Make three cheese baked spaghettios

    Cook Pasta Rings in boiling water according to package directions. Drain and rinse.

    Meanwhile, In a large deep skillet, coat the bottom with olive oil and add the Italian sausage, onion, red pepper, mushrooms and garlic, breaking up the Italian sausage with a large spoon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Add the red wine, crushed tomato and the tomato paste, basil, parsley, and oregano. Blend well. Simmer while the pasta finishes cooking.

    Mix together the ring pasta and tomato mixture, the parmesan cheese, and cottage cheese until well combined.

    Spread pasta mixture into a 9x13 glass casserole.

    Now top with the shredded mozzarella and loosely cover with aluminum foil.

    Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes covered, then remove foil and bake 10 minutes more, uncovered.
