    shredded or sliced cheese

  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion

How To Make sausage pizza dough rollups - super fast meal!

  • 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees, spray pan spray into large muffin pan and set aside.
  • 2
In a medium skillet brown onions and sausage (you can use link or bulk sausage but remove skin if using links)
  • 3
Meanwhile place butter and flour in medium saucepan, cook until slightly brown and somewhat crumbly Add milk and cheese (I had Parmesan, Gouda and Swiss leftover from a charcuterie that worked perfectly for this ANY good melting cheese will work, I would avoid American cheese just for texture preferences) stir continuously until cheese is melted and sauce is thickened. Remove from heat.
  • 4
Lay out pizza dough onto non stick mat or parchment paper, put cooked meat in an even layer over entire dough, then cover with a thin layer of cheese sauce. Using mat or parchment paper to help, roll like a long cinnamon roll. Cut into 2” rolls one at a time and place into cup cake pan.
  • 5
Combine melted butter and basil (or parsley) and brush the top of all the rolls Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
  • 6
I had a little leftover sauce and sausage that I saved to use on a little bit of macaroni tomorrow ;)
