Ingredients For indian tacos

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 6oz can
    tomato paste mixed with 2 tomato paste cans of water, until smooth
  • 16 0z. can
    chili beans
  • 1 1/2 oz pkg
    taco seasoing mix
  • indian fry bread
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • sliced green onions with some of the green top
  • finely diced tomatoes

How To Make indian tacos

  • 1
    Heat a 9 or 10 inch skillet over moderate heat. Crumble meat into skillet. Cook over moderate heat until meat loose red color, breaking into small pieces using side of spoon. Drain off any grease.

    In a large bowl, mix together tomato paste mixture, beans and their liquid and dry taco seasoning mix.

    Using a potato masher, coarsely mash beans. Add bean mixture and beef together. Mix well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, covered, about 20 minutes.

    Serve meat mixture over pieces of fry bread.

    Serve small bowls of cheese, green onions and tomatoes on the side to be piled on to taste on top of meat mixture. This dish is to be eaten with a fork and knife instead of hand held taco style.
