I adore Falafel wraps! This is probably my all time favorite vegan dish! I'm not a vegetarian in fact, I'm a total carnivore! Hardly a day goes by that I don't eat meat, but when something is good, its good and that's that! Let me tell you, this is good. You can certainly follow the baking directions for a bit less fat. The one's pictured here are baked not fried. Hope y'all enjoy these as much as I do!

Ingredients For falafel pita wraps

  • FALAFEL
  • 3 can
    chick peas/garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 bunch
    fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 bunch
    fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 3
    green onions, sliced
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • WRAP FALAFEL SANDWICH
  • 5 md
    pita rounds
  • tahini sauce
  • hummus
  • SUGGESTED VEGGIES
  • 2 c
    chopped iceburg or leaf lettuce
  • 1
    tomato, diced
  • 1
    red onion, chopped
  • 1
    cucumber, sliced
  • 2
    green onions, sliced

How To Make falafel pita wraps

  • 1
    Run all ingredients through a food processor until very finely ground and well blended, but not mushy, you want a nice ground texture.

    Shape into patties

    Pan Fry Directions: Heat 1/4 inch of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add falafel patties and fry for about 7 minutes per side or until crispy and browned.

    Baking Directions: Coat a jelly roll pan with 3-4 Tbsp. olive oil and bake in a 375 degree, preheated oven for 13 minutes. Turn and bake for another 13 minutes or until crisp and browned on both sides. Add more oil if desired for crispier falafel.

    To make a pita wrap: Warm pitas by wrapping them in aluminum foil and placing them in a 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes or so.

    Spread 2 Tbsp. hummus onto pita bread. Add two falafel patties. Drizzle with a bit of tahini sauce. Load up with veggies of your choice. Fold pita into a wrap sandwich and enjoy!
