Ingredients For quaker oats prize winning meatloaf

  • 1 1/2 lb
    hamburger
  • 1 c
    tomato juice or sauce
  • 3/4 c
    oats, quick or old fashioned, uncooked
  • 1
    egg or 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onions
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt, optional
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper, optional
  • see notes for optional add in ingredients

How To Make quaker oats prize winning meatloaf

    Oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients and press into 8x4 inch loaf pan. Bake 1 hour. Stand 5 min and drain off juices before slicing.

    Note: Customize by adding one of the following: 1/2 cup frozen (thawed) corn or canned (drained); or 1/2 cup chopped green or red pepper; or 2 1/2 oz jar sliced mushrooms, drained; or 1/3 cup parmesan cheese; or 2 T finely chopped fresh parsley or cilantro; or Top meatloaf with 1 cup shredded cheese and bake 3 additional minutes for it to melt; or Spoon heated spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, barbecue sauce, or salsa over meatloaf before serving.
