Ingredients

rabbit, cut into parts
1 can(s)
( 15 oz) tomato sauce
1 medium
onion, chopped
4 slice
bacon , chopped or 1/4 cup bacon drippings
4 medium
carrots, sliced
1 small
can peas
1 c
red or white wine
1 c
flour, seasoned
oil for frying
2 clove
garlic, diced
parsley
1
chicken cube
bay leaves

How to Make Rabbit in Tomato Sauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1Marinate rabbit parts in wine.
    Leave for 1 hour.
  • 2Roll rabbit in seasoned flour and fry in hot oil, until browned on all sides.
    Remove from pan.
  • 3In same pan fry onions, garlic and carrots.
    Add wine and evaporate.
    Add tomato sauce.
  • 4Return rabbit parts to pan and simmer till tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
    Add liver, heart and peas 15 minutes before end of cooking.
    Keep warm until served.
