onion, finely chopped
1 medium
green pepper, chopped
1 tsp
olive oil
2 clove
garlic, crushed
1 lb
lean ground turkey
1 can(s)
(28 oz.) reduced sodium crushed tomatoes
1 can(s)
(14 oz.) low sodium tomato puree
1 can(s)
(16 oz.) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can(s)
(16 oz.) black beans, drained and rinsed
2 Tbsp
chili powder
1 tsp
1 tsp
hot sauce, to taste
2 tsp
brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Peppy Turkey Chili


  • 1In a deep saucepot over medium-high heat, saute onion and pepper in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • 2Add garlic and cook an additional minute.

    Add ground turkey and brown for 5 minutes.

    Add tomatoes and tomato puree and turn heat to low.
  • 3Add beans and spices and simmer, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens. Add additional seasoning if needed.
