    slabs st louis style ribs
  • 1/4 c
    crown royal regal apple
  • 1/4 c
    agave nectar
  • 3/4 stick
    butter, cut in pieces
  • RUB
  • 3 Tbsp
    kosher salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    turbinado sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    granulated garlic
  • 1 Tbsp
    granulated onion
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1 Tbsp
    chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    coriander, ground
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • zest of 1 large lemon, grated
  • BASTING SAUCE
  • 2 c
    apple juice
  • 1/2 c
    crown royal regal apple
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/3 c
    bbq sauce

    Remove membrane from the back of ribs.

    Brush front and back of ribs with Crown Royal Apple Regal.

    Combine rub ingredients in a small mixing bowl; generously rub the back and front of ribs. Wrap ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours; best overnight. "place remaining rub in airtight container for further use"

    Remove ribs from refrigerator, let ribs reach room temperature.

    Meanwhile prep smoker to 250 °F. “I used hickory wood”

    Combine basting ingredients in a mixing bowl. Place ribs in smoker. Brush the ribs with basting sauce after 45 minutes of smoking time. Continue to baste about every 35-40 minutes or so, this will keep the ribs nice and moist. Smoke ribs for 3 ½-4 hours.

    Add agave nectar to remaining baste in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Reduce sauce to a 1/3.

    Place ribs on foil. Brush back & front of ribs with sauce. Add pieces of butter to the top of ribs. Wrap until ready to slice and eat.
