This recipe originally says to cook the pork chops 3-4 minutes on each side. My personal preference is to cook them longer, because I think cooking them in so short a time makes them tough. Ingredients For almond-crusted chops with cider sauce

  • 1/2 c
    panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c
    ground almonds
  • 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt, divided
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 4
    boneless pork loin chops, 3/4" thick
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 c
    apple cider or juice
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 Tbsp
    honey, optional
  • minced chives

How To Make almond-crusted chops with cider sauce

    In a shallow bowl mix bread crumbs and ground almonds. In another shallow bowl mix flour and 1/4 tsp. salt. Place eggs in a separate shallow bowl.

    Dip pork chops in flour to coat both sides; shake off excess. Dip in egg, then in crumb mixture, patting to help coating adhere.

    In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add pork chops, cook 12-15 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet; keep warm. Wipe skillet clean.

    In same skillet over medium heat, combine apple cider, cream cheese, remaining salt and, if desired, honey. Cook and stir 2 minutes. Serve with pork chops; sprinkle with chives.
