Ingredients For american goulash

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 lg
    onions, chopped
  • 2
    heaping tsp. garlic powder
  • 1
    28 oz. can petite diced tomatoes
  • 2
    15 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1
    heaping tbsp. italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 3 tsp
    sugar
  • 2 c
    dry elbow macaroni

How To Make american goulash

  • 1
    Add onions, garlic, and ground beef to a large soup pot. Stir and cook until all the pink is gone from the meat and the onions are tender and translucent.

    Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the macaroni, and stir well. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

    Add macaroni and cook until pasta is done. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Sprinkle shredded cheddar or other cheese on top if desired.
