spicy spaghetti bolognese my way .. :)

When i'm making Bolognese for the children it always has to be plain ,because they won't eat if there any signs of vegetable in ,I just about manage to sneak some garlic in theirs . So for my husband and I ,I add loads of veg and some spices to our Bolognese..

Ingredients For spicy spaghetti bolognese my way .. :)

  • 1/2
    pound of lean ground beef 200g
  • 1
    meduim white onion (or any type onion)peel of skin and sliced
  • 1
    meduim carrot ( scraped and grated)
  • 1
    green pepper (seeds removed & sliced)
  • 1
    red pepper (seeds removed &sliced)
  • 2
    cloves of garlic (skin removed & chopped)
  • 1
    meduim heat red chilli (seeds removed & chopped finely)
  • 1/2 tsp
    chilli powder & pinch of chilli flakes.
  • 4
    mushrooms (washed & chopped coarsely not too small )
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • salt & cracked black pepper to season
  • 1 Tbsp
    tomatoe puree
  • 1 can
    chopped tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornflour to thinken sauce with 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1 1/3 c
    red wine optional (i had a merlot already open )
  • 2
    fl .oz. of beef stock(i used a beef stock cube)
  • enought spaghetti pasta for 2 people .
  • grated parmesan for top of the bolognese.
  • 2 Tbsp
    grapeseed oil
  • FOR PASTA
  • a drizzle of truffle oil (optoin but adds great flavour to the pasta)

How To Make spicy spaghetti bolognese my way .. :)

    Over a medium heat in a large deep pan add 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil . When hot add the ground beef and chopped garlic. Fry for 4 to 5 minutes until the meat starts to brown and break up any lumps ..

    Add to that the onions, grated carrots, red & green peppers, chilli and mushrooms. cook until the veg is tender .

    Stir in the can of chopped tomatoes ,beef stock, red wine and oregano, chilli powder and a pinch of chilli flakes now just a little ..stirring constantly , season with salt and pepper . bring to the boil and add to that the cornflour mixed with a little water , to thicken up the sauce . Turn down the heat and leave to simmer for 10 minutes.

    Cook the spaghetti in a large pan of boiling salted water, add 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil to the water also this will stop the spaghetti sticking together . cook for 8 to 10 minutes . When ready drain the pasta through a colander.

    plate up your spaghetti Bolognese ,and drizzle some truffle oil over it . You'll not be disappointed and some grated parmesan cheese on top ,serve with a crusty slice of garlic bread .. So folks I hope you like this meal as much as I do ..From my table to yours enjoy ... :)
