This recipe comes from my Grandmother , born in 1902.Her hands were always busy in the kitchen. Great with a Pasta of your choosing and sauce.

Ingredients For grandmom's italian meatballs,my way

  • 1 lb lb
    top of the round ground beef
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    day old crusty bread process into crumbs
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    finely chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 1/2 c
    locatelli brand pecorino romano grated cheese
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    finely chopped/diced onion
  • 4
    finely chopped fresh basil leaves

    Combine 1/4 c of milk with 1/2 c day old crusty bread processed into crumbs let bread crumbs soak up the milk

    Next start to Finely chop 2 tablespoons each of flat leaf parsley,Basil

    In a large mixing bowl put in your 1 lb of top of the round ground beef
  • 4
    Add soaked bread crumbs removing any excess liquid if needed

    Add 1/4 tsp. of salt and pepper

    Add 2 tbs. of finely chopped flat leaf parsley and finely minced Basil

    Add 1/2 c of Locatelli brand pecorino romano grated cheese

    Add 1 egg

    Mix well

    Make medium size meatballs and pan fry with 2-3 tbs. of olive oil brown then finish cooking in simmering pasta sauce,stir as needed.
