When I was younger, my grandpa used to make tuna patties and I always loved them. They were basically just tuna, eggs, and breadcrumbs. I took my cue from him but added a little more to the recipe and I really love them- as does my family.

Pan Fry


  • 3 can(s)
    chunk light tuna, drained
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • 1
    celery stalk, diced
  • 1/2
    red, yellow, or orange bell pepper, diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    canola mayonnaise
  • 1/3 c
    instant potato flakes, dry
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • ·
    canola oil

How to Make Tuna Patties


  1. Mix together the first 7 ingredients. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder, stirring to combine.
  2. Form tuna mixture into patties.
  3. Drizzle canola oil in a large skillet. Add patties (in batches if necessary) and fry for about 4 minutes, or until browned, on each side. Serve.
